Let the battle begin!
RECIEVED ENTRY ONE
------------------------------------------------
Case Without a Cause
Watching the pale moon crawl across the night sky
Searching out for the imperfections in the ellipse
Like the imperfections I see in myself, I won’t lie
They are still there, forever halting my recovery
Knowing that what once could be seen
Now must be felt
People bustling about, car, bus and train
Oblivious to the hurt behind this facade
I don’t need a broken arm to be in pain
The smile and laugh are true enough
But it still won’t alter who I am
A case without a cause
----------------------------------------------------
THIS IS ENTRY ONE ( to Entry 1 for their entry)
come on people or E1 will win by default somebody PM me an Entry 2!!!

The Night Is For Hunting
------------------------
This is the night that never ends
It stretches on and on and on
Things call out,
Catch your attention,
Then flit off into the void of distraction,
The only thing that sticks to you like glue
That will attract you to its deadly light like a moth to a flame
Is the one thing you shouldn’t, wouldn’t do
If it wasn’t for your dance of obviation

Anyone for entry3? :p

ENTRY THREE!
_____________________________-
Leave Bad Enough Alone
Broken promises,
Broken lies.
Broken people,
Broken ties.
We try to fix what’s broken,
But the problem lies in us—
Reconcile,
Reconcile,
Broken,
Bust.
We try to seal the hole,
But the gap grows ever wide,
For every time we reach in deep
To the mutual wound inside
Our arms just grow fatter
From the bitterness we eat.
Insecurities press upon the walls of this cavern—
Reconcile,
Reconcile,
Hurt,
Retreat.
When every effort for healing ends
In every multiplying grief,
What’s left to do to make amends,
But cling to the belief
That we’ll have another chance
To reconcile the wrongs,
With perfect bodies
And perfect hearts
And perfect arms, strong
Enough to bust the walls clean open
That attempt to hold in the gall
That seeps through the cracks
And taints our words—walls
That really keep us apart.
After I’ve lived a life worth living,
Imperfect as it may be,
I’ll enter into that city of light
Where every heart’s wiped clean.
I’ll spend a few millennia,
Just basking in the glow,
But when I get curious
About the people I used to know,
I’ll squint my eyes and search for them
Across the fields of grain—
The wind sifting through their shafts,
They show no signs of strain.
I’ll raise a hand to perfect eyes to block the glare of the sun—
One last habit to let go of;
I’ll lower my hand—done.
We’ll smile perfect smiles
And meet somewhere between
Our perfect bodies as the wind blows through
Our hearts like grain
Wafting to and fro,
Each its own entity,
Yet one in ways we never knew on earth.
No walls, no holes, no wounds to try to heal,
No gall, or hurt, or work to do—
Reconciled.
Bur for now, we’re still imperfect.
Every move grates on our skin.
So its best to leave bad enough alone—
For now.

ENTRY FOUR!

[u]The question
The question fills your eyes
And spills out of your mouth
But you know the answer, even before the words are formed.
The question lingers for a moment
In the widening space between us
And you already know the exact words that will break the silence.
The question embeds itself inside me
A twisting knife burning, screaming
Because I know that you know the response, but you still force me to lie.
The answer?
Yes, I’m okay.
I know that is what you need me to say.

Give me the means to fix the broken
Even if I am the worst
Talk to me as I yell towards you
Do not keep me just because you’ve won
How come this effects me now?
When once I had lived in vain
I was the god
Now the pauper
You crushed this heart before the break
Seeing clearly on a whim
But clearly is so underrated
As I can not help but think the worst
When it’s me protecting you undefeated
I am guilty because I have torn
And because I can not see that
The life I tried to give them all
Was thrown back at me
like your theosis

Re: Let the battle begin!
I'm voting for entry 4. I think all the poems are amazing, and it was tough to pick one, but 4 describes something that happens to all of us a LOT.

My vote is for entry three. They all struck a very deep chord, though.
